Final Blog

So today is the last Blog. I'm not quite ready to give up my Blog yet so I might carry on writing in it just for me. I have tried since September to regularly update my blog about twice a week. The last few days everyone else has gone crazy updating their blogs, but where I have done it regularly I didn't want to post random blogs from ages ago because mine is in good order where I've updated it quite regularly. So the dates wouldn't even be close to matching. I'm sure there must be a way to slot some in but I can't figure it out.

I'm feeling ok about our deadline in 3 weeks. Mainly because that time will go so fast and is close enough for me to be able to work really hard and pass on going out because I know in no time I will have months off. I'm also a bit worried about not doing very well because although I did OK in my sketchbook I handed in I barely passed Lectra and I'm already embarrassed about our B&M crits because I know I did awful.

We have to do our placement soon but I'm really looking forward to that. I'm hoping to get quite a specific placement. I am pretty sure I want to be a sample seamstress. But not any old, here you go New Look have another T-shirt. I want to do couture bridal wear. The only problem with this profession is I'm quite sure I will have to start out in effectively a sweat shop. My worse nightmare is in 10 years looking at my life and realising I've turned into Sally Webster off Coronation Street working in a knicker factory complaining about.. well everything. Although I'm pretty sure that won't happen.

So yeah I'm hoping to get a week placement in a job I would start out in when I finish uni, and then a week somewhere I would aspire to be after I have enough experience to get a better job, like bridal couture. I wonder if 1 week in each will be enough to get a proper feel for it though. I'm hoping to get a little summer job out of it. A bit like when you were 13 and you swept up hair in a salon, I'll just sweep up fabric off cuts until they let me on a sewing machine.

I found out today we need to have a CV for tomorrow and I have a new laptop since I wrote my last one so I need to start from scratch and I think I should really get started.  Au revoir for now Blog
