Melting Pot

This is my moodboard for the melting project. I chose Italy as my culture. When I was doing research for my moodboard it was starting to look a bit repetitive to my sketchbook. So rather than focus on what I thought the teachers might want from me, I went for what I thought would actually benefit my project. So all of the photographs don't have a similar theme but are instead all very inspiring pictures. Some aspects of every picture can be used as inspiration towards my Italian project, whether it is focussing on the pattern the bamboo bridge makes or looking at the natural colours of a flower. I also used ribbon, buttons and fabric swatches.

Snail Designs

This is an advert I made during Steve's lesson. I used a lace swatch on the dress and wrote the little bit of writing myself. I don't know why it's snail designs, I just did that on one of the first sessions and ran with it.

Oscar De La Renta

Today was a catch up session and I finished my Powerpoint Presentation. I did it on Oscar De La Renta because I love his work and he wasn't an obvious choice. The only problem I found was attaching a video to it, I couldn't quite manage it so had to just leave the link on the page in the end.

Photobucket
I'm having some serious issues getting it onto Blogger. The google page everyone else did theirs on isn't working right now so will have to remember to try again! If you read this remind me xx

10/4/2010

I have tried to upload my PowerPoint for this and the Tokyo one we did and I can't do it. I've tried loads of different ways with all sorts of file types. I spent ages and its not happening so I'm just going to have to individually load each slide which is a shame.

After all that I went back into my google docs to try and upload my CV and saw something entitled Oscar De La Renta. Not sure if the link will work but I shall include it anyway.

Peclers Paris

Today we had a talk from Peclers Paris which is a fashion forecasting magazine. It was very intense and was quite difficult to take much in but I took plenty of notes to read over. It was really interesting and I didn't really appreciate how much influence they had on the fashion industry.

After I went to the studios to finish off my skirt and it took me four attempts to do my concealed zip. I'm glad its finally done and lines up but there is still a little bump at the join.

Snail Designs

This is a quick logo design I did on illustrator.
When it is on Illustrator it looks fine but when I put it onto my blog, much like the trainers it goes grainy around the edges. I think it might be because it doesn't have a background.
